CARL C. GLANTON, age 87 of Otisville, died Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Mumford- Hudson Funeral Home, with Pastor Kay Leitelt officiating. Cremation will follow the service. The family will receive visitors from 1-7PM on Friday, January 22, 2016 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or to the Otisville United Methodist Church. Carl was born on December 12, 1928 in Leighton, AL to Benjamin and Bessie Glanton. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and retired from Shand Electronics. Carl served on the Otisville Village Council, Otisville Fire Department, and volunteered with the Otisville Little League program. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching all Detroit sports, and tinkering with everything. Carl is survived by his wife of 68 years, Evelyn (Sutherby) Glanton; sons: Steven (Linda) Glanton of Hobart, IN., Thomas (LuAnn) Glanton of Davison, MI., David (Connie) Glanton of Otisville, MI., and Joel (Heather) Glanton; daughter-in-law, Shelley Glanton of Candler, N.C.; and brother-in-law, Dr. Ronald “Bob” (Dr. Georgia) Sutherby of Ypsilanti, MI. The family would like to thank their dear friends, Dan and Sherry Perry and Dr. Moody for their continued care. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Glanton of Candler, N.C. |
