Passed away March 5, 2018 at McLaren Hospital with her loving family by her side; age 77 years. Janice Lucille Williston was born in Flint, MI to the late Earl and Ida Williston. She attended Flint Central High School and continued her education at Mott Community College where she earned her nursing degree. She married Michael Coombs on October 10, 1998 and was married for 19 years. Jan was always thinking of other people and how to be of service. She was a caring nurse for 30 years. She also volunteered at Covenant Healthcare Cooper in Saginaw for 15 years.
Jan was an avid U of M fan and loved going to the games and cheering them on, Go Blue! She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and watching Tiger baseball.
She leaves to cherish her memory: loving and devoted husband, Michael Coombs; her sons Jarrod (Angela) Jarrett and James (Tracey) Jarrett; step-son Ken (Heather) Coombs and step-daughter Laura (Brian) Kelley; brother Wendell (Donna) Williston and sister Myrna Nagy; grandchildren Tyler, Landyn, Kasey, Dylan, Nathan, Kyle, Kevin, Kameron, Justine and Halie; great-grandchild Ellie; her nieces and nephews and many friends.
Jan was preceded in death by her brothers, Wayne Williston and Lawton Williston.
Funeral services will take place on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. Rev. Shawn Fenske will officiate. Jan’s family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
