Passed away Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the Cartwright Care Center in Saginaw Twp., age 76 years. Ruth Anderson was born on February 23, 1935 in Saginaw, MI. She married Clyde Cullings on August 28, 1960, he survives her. Ruth taught in the Saginaw Township School District for 25 years. After retirement from Westdale Elementary School in Saginaw Twp., she went back to become a volunteer teachers aid for a full year. She was a member of New Covenant Free Methodist Church in Clio, MI and also a member of Immanuel Baptist in Blind River, Ontario. Ruth square danced for 42 years, 37 of which were with the Calico Twirlers in Frankenmuth. She also enjoyed ballroom dancing to cues. Summers were cherished with family and friends in Blind River, ON.
Surviving besides her husband Clyde are children; Kim (David) Chase, Fenton, Rob (Nancy) Cullings, Georgia, Margaret (Pascal) Bourquin, Switzerland, and Chris (Marisa) Cullings, Grand Rapids, 12 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, sisters; Betty Jo (Larry) Fowler, Frankenmuth and Jean Ann (Everette) Johnson, Port Charlotte, FL, brothers Jim (Mae) Anderson, Albuquerque, NM and John (Sally) Kerr Anderson, Saginaw.
Ruth was preceded in death by her brother, William (Martia) Anderson, Saginaw.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. Ruth’s family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the time of service. According to Ruth’s wishes, cremation will take place. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to the Cartwright Care Center, 3443 Hospital Road, Saginaw, MI 48603.
