VERMETTE, Dorothy Jean (O’Hare) – of National City, MI and Winter Haven, Florida, age 89, passed away June 29, 2016 at Horizon Senior Living. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, July 1, 2016 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, G-5199 Richfield Rd., Flint; Rev.Fr. Roy Horning celebrant. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 10-11 AM Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Jean was born in Flint, MI on May 6, 1927, daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Gahan) O’Hare. She married Leon Vermette on June 7, 1947 and he preceded her in death on April 15, 1998. Jean was a member of Holy Rosary Parish for 35 years and enjoyed playing bingo, cards and making crafts.
Jean is survived by her children, Nancy (Dennis) Lee, Robert (Pamela) Vermette, Gary (Nancy) Vermette; grandchildren, Michelle Lee, Christina (Jason) Manley, Heather (Doug) DuBay, Melanie (Jeff Losey) Williams, Becky (John) Sukup, Melissa (Brian) Remillard, Holly (Mike) Jarvis; great grandchildren, Keegan, Ryan, Kameron, Corinn, Sarah, Reese, Jordan, Gavin, Lily, Owen, Brayden, Masen and Heath; nieces, nephews, friends and bingo and card playing buddies. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Dan (Mary Lou) O’Hare, Betty (Louie) Heck.
