OTIEPKA, Paul K. – Of Grand Blanc, age 81, passed away on
Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Memorial Service will be held at 12 P.M. Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Dean Dumbrille officiating.
Inurnment of cremains at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation 11 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Paul was born in Flint, Michigan on May 23, 1931.
He served in the Korean War as a 1st Lieutenant in the Quarter Master Corp.
Prior to entering the regular Army he was a National Guardsman, where he was a Sergeant that headed the heavy weapons squad.
Upon graduating from Bendle High School in Burton, MI, he attended Western Michigan University, where he graduated with a four year degree in Business Administration.
He worked in general accounting for General Motors, retiring in 1987.
He and wife Eva enjoyed many days fishing out of Port Austin, MI on their boat, the “Honey Bear” and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Elsie Otiepka.
He is survived by his wife, Eva;
daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Martin Meyer, all of Grand Blanc,
daughter, Val Otiepka and grandsons, Ryan and Austin of Plainfield, IL;
sisters, Irene and husband Langdon of Fenton,
Lorraine of Grand Blanc and Pauline of Los Angeles, CA;
many nieces and nephews.
