GEORGE, Roxanne Marie, age 81, of Grand Blanc, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00AM Friday, June 27, 2014 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 7296 Gale Rd., Goodrich. Fr. Michael W. Kuchar celebrant. Entombment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be Thursday 2:00 -7:30PM at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc. A wake will be held 7:30PM Thursday for family and friends to share memories. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial donations may be made to Flint Powers Catholic High School or St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Roxanne was born February 23, 1933 in Flint the daughter of the late Arnold and Virginia (Seymour) Erickson. She graduated in 1951 from Flint Northern High School. Roxanne married Victor E. George on October 23, 1954 at St. Matthews Catholic Church, Flint. She was President of St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary and a faithful member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending winters in Florida and summers in Petoskey. Roxanne was fond of playing cards, especially bridge and poker and had a wonderful time at the casino as well. Her sense of humor was a true gift. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be cherished and remembered forever.
Surviving are her loving husband of 59 years, Victor E. George; six children, Roxanne Kane (William) of Davison, Ami MacDonald (Tim) of Grand Blanc, Beth Matus (Jim) of Flushing, Victor L. George (Cathy) of Grand Blanc, Fred George (Beth ) of Grand Blanc, Daniel George (Dana) of Grand Blanc; 13 grandchildren, Brian and Tyler Kane of Davison, Tim MacDonald (Katie) of Grand Blanc, Kelly MacDonald of Santa Barbara, CA, Courtney MacDonald of Grand Blanc, Abagail Matus of Minneapolis, MN, Emily Matus of Chicago,IL, Allison George of Ferndale, Victor E. George IV of Ferndale, John H. George of Grand Blanc, Ben George of Grand Blanc, Tate and Olivia George of Grand Blanc; 2 great-grandchildren, Lauren and Trey MacDonald of Grand Blanc.
