GAY, John L., Jr. – of Davison, age 65, passed away December 16, 2015 at his residence. A Funeral Service will be held 6 PM Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Jim Glasco officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-6 PM Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
John was born in Alma, MI on March 28, 1950, son of John L. and Beverly J. (King) Gay. He was raised by his mother and father, Roy J. McIntosh. John married Catherine Dale on August 15, 1969. From that union were born four children. John was an avid hunter, played semi-pro football with the Flint Sabers and enjoyed boating. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially the grandkids. John worked for GM and was the Chief of Police in Montrose.
John is survived by his children, John Christopher (Stacey), Jamie Marie Gay, Jodie Lynn Gay (Steve Stevens) and Jennalee June Gay (fiancé, Robert Moughler); 22 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Beverly and Roy J. McIntosh; grandparents, Rudolph and Hazel Oberpriller.
