DART, Harold Richard, age 89, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025, just a day before his 90th birthday. He was born on March 14, 1935, in Swartz Creek, Michigan, to George Edward and Orilla Sarah (Muchler) Dart. Harold was a proud graduate of Mary Crapo High School, class of 1953, and served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Army. On September 15, 1962, he married his beloved wife, Wanda Lynn Muchler, with whom he shared many cherished years. Harold dedicated 47 years to General Motors, where he worked tirelessly as a Welder and Metal Finisher before retiring in 2000. In addition to his work, Harold found joy in raising chickens, gardening, and mowing the lawn, embracing the simple pleasures of life. He is survived by his devoted wife, Wanda; two sons, Gordon Dart and Dennis (Dawn) Dart; granddaughters, Hannah Johnson and Neena Hudson; great-grandson, Leo; brother, Kenny (Norajane) Dart; sisters-in-law, Carole Dart and Pam Dart; and many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Sharon and Ralph Limbam for their loving care and assistance during this time. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, George and Orilla Dart; his daughter, Susan Dart; and several siblings, including Robert, Betty Johnson, Donald, Dorothy Wolfe, Gladys Merkle, Duane, Russell, Shirley, Ralph, and Joanne Wakeman. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, located at 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. Interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held from 3 - 7 PM on Sunday, March 16, and from 11 AM - 1 PM on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the LaVigne Home for Compassionate Care, 4085 Lapeer Road, Burton, MI 48509.
