Zack Steven Medemar – Age 19, of Flint Township, died Sunday, March 20, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. Zack was born November 30, 1996 in Flint the son of Joni and Steve Medemar. He was an amazing human being that despite his illness never lost his keen sense of humor. Zack was mature beyond his age, generous and caring. He graduated from Swartz Creek High School where he played football and threw the discus and shot put. Zack was a student at Central Michigan University studying Recreation and Event Management. Surviving are his parents, Joni and Steve Medemar; aunts and uncles, Donna (Dr. Jim) Williams, Kay (Rick) Bushey, Barb (Mark) Amsler, Mike (Wanda) Cummings, Matt Cummings, Rob (Jan) Cummings, Mary (Chuck) Eckert, Shelly Fortenberry, Judy Medemar, Dr. Jack (Diane) Medemar; grandparents, Donald and Bernadette Cummings; cousins, Elizabeth Williams, Brent, Joe, and Brian Bushey, Ryan and Brynn Amsler, Ben, Sam and Max Cummings, Kevin and Scott Cummings, Theresa, Emily and Aaron Cummings, Dan and Pat Cummings, Phil Eckert, Leah and Kyle Fortenberry; special friends Nick Hoffman and Hunter Whitworth. Zack was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary and Charlie Medemar and uncles, Phil and Drew Cummings. Friends may visit the family from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Reigle Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers make donations to the family for a scholarship in Zack’s name.
