ALVORD, Catherine Emma - Of Grand Blanc, age 83, died Sunday, December 4, 2016 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Flint Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 West Bristol Road, Flint,
Pastor Dave Hintz officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Visitation 2-8pm Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation 12 Noon Wednesday until the time of the service at the church.
Catherine was born in Flint on January 15, 1933, the daughter of Howard and Elizabeth (Jensen) Gillies. Catherine is remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, as well as her forty-five-year service as a Registered Nurse and active involvement at Flint Central Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are husband of 60 years, Charles Alvord;
children, Debbie (John) Minar, Brian Alvord, Stephen (Rosemaria) Alvord, Philip (Janet) Alvord and Daniel Alvord;
16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
