SMOOT, Wayne – age 58, passed away suddenly on October 17, 2018 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 24, 2018 with one hour of visitation prior to Mass at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church – 1227 E. Bristol Road, Burton, Michigan with Father Steve Anderson celebrating. Wayne was born on October 7, 1960 in Pontiac, Michigan to the late Lloyd and Janet Smoot. He graduated from Pontiac Central High School and earned his Master’s at Central Michigan University. On November 3, 1990 in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan Wayne married the love of his life Marjorie Roche. He worked at Mt. Pleasant High School GI tech and Oakland Community College in robotics. He was a talented musician and song writer. Wayne loved to ride his bicycle through the beautiful Michigan countryside. Wayne was a wonderful man, he will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Smoot; children, Caitlin Smoot, Evan Smoot; granddaughter, Ava Penn; sister, Sharon (Dave) Allen; and loving niece and nephew.
