Robert “Robby” Stroup, age 25, of Lapeer, died August 28, 2013 due to an auto accident. Robby was born on September 4, 1987 in Lapeer, the son of Teresa Matthews and Robin Stroup. He grew up in Lapeer and attended Lapeer West High School.
Robby was a tree trimmer for E.N.S. Tree Company in Lake Orion for the last 4 years.
Robby enjoyed playing the guitar. He was an outdoorsman who loved to fish, hunt and work on old cars.
Robby is survived by his parents; Teresa (Bill Vicary) Matthews and Robin (Betty) Stroup; children: Robert Michael Mead and Madelyn Elizabeth Mead and their mother, Elizabeth Mead, Rhett Jullian Hunter and a soon to be born baby son in October and step-children Vlad Dominyke PenDragen and Amera Nikolette PenDragen and their mother, Nichole Hunter; sisters: Carrie Matthews, Amandalee Matthews, Felicia Sontag and Sara Stamm; brother: Joshua Stamm; grandmother: Vivian Pickett; grandfather, Bill Stroup; special friend: Elmer Stamm; and many nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Robby was preceded in death by his grandfather, Paul Pickett, Sr. and grandmother, Delores Stroup.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
Family will be present for visitation on Friday, Aug. 30th from 4 PM-8 PM and on Saturday, Aug. 31st from 10 AM-11 AM. Funeral Service will be Saturday, Aug. 31st at 11 AM at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home with Deacon Joe Schielinger officiating. Burial will be in West Deerfield Cemetery in Fostoria.
