WILSON, Garland D. “Curley” - Of Coushatta, Louisiana, formerly of Flint, age 77, died Saturday, August 3, 2013 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held 5pm Tuesday, August 6, 2013
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Pastor Joel Stiff officiating.
Burial in Bethel Cemetery in Red River Parish, Louisiana.
Visitation 4pm Tuesday until the time of the service with visitation continuing after until 8pm at the funeral home.
Garland was born in Hall Summit, Louisiana on August 8, 1935, the son of the late John and Georgia (Henry) Wilson and was a resident of Michigan and Louisiana. Garland married Harriet J. Head on April 17, 1995 and have been together for 42 years. Garland attended Lighthouse Baptist Church in Flint and was a member of Bethel Baptist in Louisiana. He was employed with General Motors for 41 years. Garland enjoyed watching baseball and loved his dogs, “Dutch” and “Midget”
Surviving are wife, Harriet;
children, John “Doug” Wilson, Kim Felske, Jason Wilson, Garland “Dale” (Patricia) Wilson, Duane (Candy) Frost, Cindy (Gary) Lintz, Sandy McGhee, Jamie (Robert) Van Luven and Jeanette (Brent) Dix;
brother, Prentis Wilson, sister, Joyce (Ray) Lindsey and sister, Azile “Pee Wee” Henry.
Garland was preceded in death by his infant son, Garland, sons, Robert Dee Wilson and Ricky Wayne Wilson and also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Cotton and Herman Wilson and sister, Nina Keith.
