COATES, Cornelia “Connie” Ann – of Flint, age 68, passed away January 31, 2017 at Genesee Care Center. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation will be from 1-6 PM Friday, February 3, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research or Humane Society of Genesee County.
Connie was born in Flint, MI on December 17, 1948, daughter of the late James and Opal (Stroud) Gardner. She married Larry Lassiter, from that union was born one son. Connie then married Douglas Coates and he preceded her in death on November 7, 1978. She worked as a waitress or manager for various restaurants. Connie loved to do arts and crafts, work in the garden and play pool.
Connie is survived by son, Jack (fiance, Danette Reed) Lassiter; grandchildren, Christine Lassiter, Connie Jean Lassiter and Brady Schneider; sister, Cammy (Sonny) Coughlin; brother, Ken Gardner; many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sister, Betty Beardsley; brother, Jimmy Gardner. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Genesee Care Center, PACE of Genesee County and the staff at Dr. Szyarto office for all their loving care.
