CAPUA, Violet J. - Of Flint, age 98, died Sunday, February 19, 2012 at her residence.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2012 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G-3139 Hogarth Avenue, Flint,
Reverend Monsignor Richard J. Groshek officiating.
Entombment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Visitation 3 -8 p.m. Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Capua will be at the church 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the Mass.
Violet was born in Marble, Colorado on March 28, 1913, daughter of the late Alessandro and Maria (DeProsperis) Lauretti. She married John Capua on November 16, 1935 in Muskegon, MI. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella. Violet loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are sons, Thomas and the late Amy Capua of Flint/Bear Lake, MI, and John and wife Beverly Capua of Flushing;
Grandchildren, Elizabeth and husband Eric Lorenz of Midland, Thomas Jr. and wife Stacie Capua of Midland, Alicia and husband Michael Niedzielski of Worcester, PA, Nicole and husband Ken Wilkins of Washington Township, MI, Jennifer Capua of Kalamazoo and Gina and husband Ryan Bobel of Royal Oak;
10 great-grandchildren;
2 great-great-grandchildren;
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband John and grandson John C. Capua.
