GRAVES, Donald R. Jr. – of Owosso, took his final ride to heaven on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. He was 63 years of age. Funeral services will be held at 3PM Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Pastor Ed Emmerling officiating. Cremation to follow. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday from 11AM until the time of service at 3PM. Contributions may be made to the family.
Don was born April 22, 1953 in Saginaw, Michigan to Donald Sr. and Estelle (Princing) Graves. He graduated from Hill McCloy High School in 1971 and resided in Montrose for 40 years. Don worked at Riverside IGA for many years before pursuing an interest in travel. He loaded up his rig and began traveling many miles across the United States. Don loved spending his leisure time on his Harley and in a boat on the water. He enjoyed nature and the feel of the wind on his face. Don also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and waterskiing.
Don was blessed with 5 children: Crystal Kambasha (Fiancé Dave) of Lansing, Lacie (Benjamin) Matlock of Owosso, Cory Graves (fiancée Julie) of Taylor, Amber (Patrick) Smith of Grand Blanc and Michael Florian of Holly; 8 grandchildren: Ashley and Hailey Maike, Alyssa Kambasha, Jacquelyn Matlock, Gavin Roat, Dylan, Adalynn and Brinlynn Smith; Father, Donald Graves Sr.; Don was the eldest of 6 children: Brother, Cliff (Annette) Graves; Sisters: Ginger (Larry) Shaw, Wanda (Rick) Felton, Jane (Mark) Wyczalek, and Audrey (Joe) Wittbrodt. Don is also survived by: fiancée Helen Porubsky; Several nieces, nephews, cousins; Dog, Turbo and friends who loved him.
