MATTA, Dolores Ann - age 78, of Fenton, died Saturday, February 25, 2017 in Florida. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, March 6, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton with Fr. Jim Rolph celebrant. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton where a scripture service will be held at 7 PM Sunday evening. Visitation will also be held 10 AM - 11 AM Monday at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Ms. Matta was born August 11, 1938 in Detroit, the daughter of Nelson and Agnes (Fagan) Marion. She lived on Lake Fenton and spent her winters in Orlando, FL. Ms. Matta was one of the first women assembly workers at General Motors and retired after 31 years of service. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, a life time member of the Fenton Moose Lodge and a member of the Fenton Eagles Club. Ms. Matta was an avid Euchre player who loved Lake Fenton, boating and spending time with her family. She was known for her bright sense of humor. Surviving are: three children, Brian (Kristie) Matta of Orlando, Kimberly (Douglas) Jackson of Orlando and Peter Matta of Fenton; daughter-in-law, Peggy Matta of Fenton; six grandchildren, Keith (Angela), Kyle, Kory, Julianna, Jason, and Tyler; two great-grandchildren, Dean and Delaila; brother, James (Connie) Marion of Grand Blanc; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: son, Barry Matta; grandson, Anthony Matta; six siblings, Noreen Cronin, Shirley Phillips, Pat Lambert, Eileen Rigg , Bill Marion, and John Marion.
