Paul M. Martin age 77 of Vernon passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel. Pastor Norman Beckwith will be officiating. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and one hour prior to the service.
Paul was born October 22, 1940 in Flint, MI a son of Alan and Clarisa (Hartman) Martin. From 1957-1963 he served in the United States Marine Corp. On August 4, 1995 he married Nancy Brewer. Paul enjoyed deer hunting, playing in his pool leagues, and talking to people. He may be remembered for sitting on his porch with a point and a whistle at friends who walked by. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed by General Motors for 38 years.
Paul is survived by his wife, Nancy Martin; children, Lawrence (Pam) Fields, Theresa (Stewart) Evert and Heather Lindsey; step-son, Matthew (Sue) Dugener; 11 grandchildren; brothers, David (Diane) Martin and Danny (Karen) Martin; and sisters, Becky (Gerald) Thiel, Kathy (Steven) Lowery and Laurie Diener.
