Krueger, Sharon of Flushing, age 76, died Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at her home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2015, at Trinity Episcopal Church. Sharon's cousin, Rev. Dr. Douglas W. Vernon and Pastor Michael Back will officiate. Cremation will follow the funeral service. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Friday at the church until the time of the service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
Sharon was born in Owosso, Michigan on July 7, 1939, the daughter of Floyd and Muriel (Hurst) Smith. She married John Kruger on August 16, 1958, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Flushing. Sharon was a graduate of Flushing High School, Class of 1957. She attended Mott Community College where she went to Nursing School. Sharon worked as a nurse at McLaren in the operating room for 38 years. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Flushing. Sharon was an active member of the Northeast Michigan Studebaker Drivers Club where she wrote the Egbert Express internet newsletter and had served as an officer in the National Club. Sharon was very artistic and and sold her work at Art in the Market at the Flint Farmers Market. For many years, she was a Girl Scout Troop Leader for Troop #861 and was active in the Flushing Raider Marching Band Boosters. She enjoyed tennis, bicycling, softball and was an avid traveler.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 57 years, John; children, Suzanne and husband Paul Janicki, Kreg and wife Cynthia Kruger of Linden, Kelly Krueger of Flushing; grandchildren, Jarrett, Kal, Alyssa; brother, David and wife Jo Smith; and many loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved dog, Hawk. |
