Norma Mae Haist, age 91, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, March 21, 2025. According to Norma's wishes, anatomical donation has taken place at UofM medical school. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, April 4, 2025 at United in Christ Lutheran Church, G-6330 Corunna Rd. Flint. Pastor Stephen Stahlhut officiating. Visitation will be held 10:00 AM until time of service at the church. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Those desiring may make contributions to the United in Christ Lutheran Church.
Norma was born on September 7, 1933 in Dexter, Missouri the daughter of the late Calvin and Neva (Lucas) Shilts. She graduated from Flint Central High School. Norma married Roland Haist in Flint on October 9, 1954. Sadly he preceded her in death in March 16, 2012. She was an active member for many years at the United in Christ Lutheran Church. Norma enjoyed going out with her friends socializing, gathering her cousins for breakfast, and Wednesday nights for burger night at the VFW Hall.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen (David) Simon; son, Thomas (Lynn) Haist; grandson, Blaine (Stephanie) Simon; step-grandchildren, Jodie Fath and family and David Jr. (Beth) Simon and family; and her very close cousins.
