MATEJCEK, James Lee - Age 81, of Flint, died October 30, 2020 Funeral services will be held 1PM Tuesday, November 3 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Grand Blanc. Grandson Jordan Bond officiating. Visitation will be held 4-8PM Monday and from 11AM Tuesday until the time of the service. Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital. James was born November 21, 1938 in Flint, the son of John Adam and Gladys Sylvia (Lathrop) Matejcek. He married Sara Metcalfe in Flint on August 26, 1960. James enjoyed reading, listening to Elvis, and John Wayne movies. He retired from the Flint Board of Education with 30 years of service. James is survived by his wife, Sara; son, John (Denise) Matejcek of Flint; son-in-law, Bryan Bond of Flushing; grandchildren, Lisa (Joe Adkins) Matejcek of Flint, Zachary Matejcek of Flint, Jordan (Jill Brown) Bond of Chicago; great grandchildren, Nico and Isabelle; siblings, Lorraine Harmeier of CA., George Matejcek of AK., Dorothy Matejcek of Flint, Susie (Huck) Oglesby of AK; brother-in-laws, Richard Soles of Lapeer, and William (Jackie) Metcalfe of Swartz Creek. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gladys Matejcek; children, Cathy Jean (Matejcek) Bond in 2014, Mark Adam Matejcek in 2016; siblings, Sandra Soles, Donald Matejcek, and Jack Matejcek.
