Percy, Arthur L. "Art" – of Montrose, age 74, died Monday, August 31, 2015 at his residence, after a courageous five year battle with multiple myeloma. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Pastor Jim Horn officiating. Burial in Montrose Township Cemetery. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1-8 PM and Thursday from 10 AM until time of service.

Art was born June 24, 1941 in Taymouth Township to the late Albert and Dora (Randall) Percy. He graduated from Birch Run High School in 1959. Art married Mary Glann on July 27, 1963. He had resided in Clio for 14 years prior to moving to Montrose in 1976. Art graduated from the Flint Institute of Barbering in 1963 and was a lifelong barber. He owned and operated "A Work of Art" at the Great Lakes Tech Center for several years. He was also employed at Nichol's Barber Shop in Clio for 20 years along with filling in at several local shops over the past 5 years. Art was honored as Michigan Barber of the Year five times. He was a previous president of the State Barber Association and served as Treasurer of the Genesee County Barber's Association. Art was also a member of Clio Community Church of God. He enjoyed antique cars, bowling, hunting, fishing, camping, traveling and scuba diving. Art was also an avid Detroit Tigers fan. His pride and joy was his 1952 Ford pickup. He dearly loved spending time with his family and was especially proud of his grandchildren and all of their sporting activities.

Surviving are: Wife, Mary; Children: Todd (Chris) Percy of Montrose and Shelley (Ken) Burkhardt of Otisville; 7 grandchildren: Nicholas (Stephanie) Percy, Travis (Jaimie) Tekiele, Mason Burkhardt, Alana Percy, Tanner and Kendel Burkhardt and Chip Gilbert; Great grandchild, Rilynn Percy; Brothers: Donald (Judy) Percy and Tommy (Angie) Percy; Sisters: Betty (Frank) Osher, Kathy Chatters and Barbara Mazur.
