Joyce Ann Hampton of Flint age 83 went home to be with the Lord and her loved ones, on Wednesday December 5, 2018. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday December 8, 2018 at Eastgate Baptist Church 4226 E. Atherton Rd., Burton. Pastor Jerome Taylor will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive visitors from 4 – 8 pm Thursday and 1-4 and 6-8pm Friday at the funeral home. Joyce will lie in state at the church from 10: 00 am Saturday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in Joyce’s memory to the family for educational purposes.
Joyce was born in Lansing Michigan on October 25, 1935 and has resided in the Flint area most of her life. She was joined in marriage to Billy Hampton on February 26, 1955 and he preceded her in death on June 13, 2009. Joyce was a member of Eastgate Baptist Church and had been employed for St. Joseph Hospital, Flint for over thirty years.
Surviving are children; Sheila & Loren Johnson, Diana & Bruce Weissend, Jeffrey Hampton, and Kristina Hampton. She also leaves her grandchildren: Derrick, Leanna, Laura, Allen, Bryan, Samantha, and Billy. Also surviving are her special twelve great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and sisters; Esther & Robert Long, and Marion Witty. She is preceded in death by parents Clifford & Bethel, daughter Tammy Hampton, son Billy Hampton, grandson Loren Johnson, and best friend Alice Diehl.
