Thompson, Carol Y. of Flint, age 80 died Monday, May 29, 2017 at Angel Manor, Clio, MI. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, June 1, 2017 at West Vienna United Methodist church. Pastor Billy Lou Gillespie officiating. Burial to follow in Mt. Morris Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home Wednesday from 1-8 PM and Thursday from 12:00 until the time of service at 1:00 PM at the church.
Carol was born March 29, 1937 in Flint to the late Elmer and Lucille (Koon) Winterlee. She has resided in Flint for the last 60 years. Carol married Richard Thompson on May 2, 1953 in Mt. Morris. She was a member of the West Vienna United Methodist Church and a girl scout leader for 23 years. Carol enjoyed roller skating, bowling, and spending time with her family. She was very active in her church and also at West Wood Heights School District.
Surviving are: Husband, Richard, 5 children: Richard Jr. (Peggy) Thompson, Patricia (Gilbert) Bossie, Rev. Karen (Lawrence) Williams, James (Carolyn) Thompson, Michelle (Rod Klatt) Thomas, 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, mother-in-law Louise Thompson, 1 brother Jeff (Caroline) Winterlee, 1 sister Stephanie (Larry) Lee, 2 sister-in-laws Esther and Jan Winterlee, 1 brother-in-law Ron (Lidia) Thompson. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, James, Russell, Herbert. Memorial contributions in Carol’s name may be made to the West Vienna United Methodist Church.
