Buddy Dean White, age 77 of Flint, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2016 at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. Buddy was born January 23, 1939 the son of Jesse and Verna (Flynn) White. Buddy and Joetta met in 1976 and dated for 15 years. He married the love of his life, Joetta Brooks, on December 15, 1990 at Calvary Community Church by Rev. Alan LaRose. All together they spent 40 years with each other. He went to Beecher High School and also attended trade school to be a skilled trade painter. He was employed with General Motors for 30 years and retired from there as a skilled trade painter. He loved country music and going to the casino. He was great outdoorsman and excelled as a big game hunter. He hunted all over the country and even outside of the country. He also enjoyed fishing and watching the Detroit Tigers. He loved being outdoors, planting his flowers and working in his garden. Buddy’s favorite thing to do was going to Pow Wows and camping. Buddy was a great husband to Joetta and they shared many great times together. Buddy is survived by his loving wife, Joetta Marie White; children: Buddy Jr. (Melody) White, Larry (Sue) White, Rhonda (Mike) Adcox, Duane (Christina) White; brother, Charles (Kathy) White; sisters: Marie (Ron) Hall, Helen Porter; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers-in-law: Gerald W. Brooks, Ron VanLinden; nieces: Barbara (Kevin Eastep) VanLinde, Michelle Anderson; great niece, Emily VanLinden; great nephew, Dennis Smith; several other nieces and nephews; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by both parents; mother-in-law that he loved so dearly, Etta Marie Brooks; sister-in-law, Lola VanLinden; several other family members. Buddy will be sadly missed by all those who knew him: his friends, family, extended family, and his lottery family. A funeral service will take place at 1pm on Friday, July 15, 2016 at Brown Funeral Home (1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc). Visitation will be held on Friday from 11am until the time of service. Entombment to follow at Flint Memorial Park. |
