Lum, Lonna, age 92, of Flint, died Saturday, November 2, 2013, at her home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 4, 2013, at Rossell Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
Lonna was born in China on July 21, 1921. She married Jo Lum and he preceded her in death in March of 1975. Along with her husband, they owned Ho Toy restaurant in downtown Flint and in 1961, opened Jo’Lum restaurant on Corunna Road until the 1990’s. Lonna loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her family’s dogs. She enjoyed being up north at Lake Charlevoix and cooking dinner on Monday nights for her sons.
Lonna is survived by her children, Dr. Robert and wife Patricia Lum of Flint, Dr. James and wife Linda Lum of Flushing, Ruth and husband Steve Applegate of Lexington, KY; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and sister, Joam Wing of Chicago.
