BERNAT, Maxine “Mickie” (Fuller) - of Burton, MI, age 91, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017. A Funeral Service will be held 12:30 PM Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 10:30 AM-12:30 PM Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to NAMI of Genesee County or the Humane Society of Genesee County, in Mickie’s memory.
Mickie was born in Croswell, MI on March 1, 1926, daughter of the late Francis and Edna (Levitt) Fuller. She married Frederick Bernat on December 29, 1945 and he preceded her in death on September 3, 2007. They lived in the Lapeer and Flint areas until retirement; moving to Crystal, MI from 1986-2005; then back to the Flint area. Mickie was employed as a Comptometer and retired from Kelly Services in 1987. She was a member of Sweet Adelines International. Mickie will be greatly missed and remembered for the love of her family.
Mickie is survived by 4 children, Cheryl (Brahim) Hadri, Dede (Mitch) DeCamp, Julie (Jim) Swanson and Nancy (Larry) Purdue; son-in law, Fred McKenna; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Jo McKenna; son, Larry Bernat; twin brother, Max Fuller; 2 sisters, Genevieve Musselman and Lucille Bolman. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at the Pines of Burton and Heart to Heart Hospice for their compassionate and professional care of Mickie.
