JAMNICK, Dorothy L. – of Montrose, age 67, died Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Tendercare of Frankenmuth. Cremation has taken place. A time of sharing will be held at 5 PM Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 1PM. Contributions may be made to the Carter Elementary School C/O Montrose Schools. Private inurnment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Aurora, MN at a later date.
Dorothy was born on October 17, 1946 in Biwabik, MN to the late Frank and Dorothy (Drobnich) Jamnick and lived in Montrose since 1968. She taught at Carter Elementary School for 37 years then was a teller at Community State Bank for 8 years. She enjoyed cross stitching, playing Bunco, bowling and spending time with friends. Dorothy enjoyed sharing precious memories of her teaching years and her students.
Surviving are: dear friends, Pug & Tony Hromek, Nancy & Jim Hall, Coetta Adams, Carla Vandefifer, Toni Sue & Mike Atwell, all of Montrose, and Diane & Mark Boback of Aurora, MN; chosen grandchildren, Kylie & Kassidi Adams, Trevor & Hannah Atwell, Noah & Eric Vandefifer; and many other dear friends. Medilodge of Montrose, Tendercare of Frankenmuth, Cranberry Park of Clio and Grace Hospice deserve special thanks for the love and care Dorothy received.
