SEARS, Debra J. (Sergent) “Debbie”. – of Durand, age 63, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Genesys Health Park. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Pete Scribner officiating. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be from 11 AM -2 PM and 4-8 PM on Tuesday. There will be one hour of visitation until time of service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Debbie was born in Flint, MI on February 23, 1954, daughter of Gale M. and Doris J. (Farmer) Sergent. She married Alfred “Jim” Sears, Jr. on August 19, 1972. Debbie was a loving mother, grandmother, and a favorite aunt. She enjoyed watching and feeding birds, and identifying their songs. Debbie worked for Bentley Community Schools as a Librarian and a Paraprofessional.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Jim; children, Melanie (Craig) Banasiak, Jeremy (Andrea) Sears, Cory Sears (Marcia), Jeffrey (Jill) Sears, Katie (Tim) Skellenger and Emily Sears (Andrew); 12 grandchildren, Justin, Mikiela, Natalie, Morgan, Noah, Mason, Kate, Cole, Kameron, Grayson, Jackson and Eden; four sisters, Brenda Jordan, Denise Novak, Linda Sergent and Bethany (Kevin) Skellenger; many nieces and nephews; favorite grand-dog, Joey. She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Sergent; Brother-in-law, Gary Jordan; and niece, Allison Skellenger.
