Alfred Jimenez, 88, of Flint, MI, passed away peacefully at home on August 9, 2020.
Visitation 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Alfred was born on July 20, 1932 in Flint, MI where he resided his entire life. Alfred attended Central High School. He left before graduation to proudly serve his country, which he did for four years active duty in the U.S. Navy. After honorably serving his country, he met and then married Noemi A. Gonzalez on June 29, 1957. They shared a wonderful and loving life together for over 63 years. They had four children, Sally, Sandra (Sandy), Alfred Jr. (Fred) and Suzanne (Sue). While he worked to support the family he loved so deeply, he returned to school and earned his high school diploma. Alfred was an avid golfer and very active man who also enjoyed bowling, swimming, softball, snowmobiling and hunting. Alfred worked for 37 years at AC Spark Plug where he was loved and respected by his employees. Alfred was proud to serve his country that he loved so much and was even more proud of the family he raised. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the center of his life. He was loved and respected by all who had the privilege of knowing him and will be deeply missed by all.
Alfred is survived by his loving wife and best friend Noemi, his children Sally (Rick) Jennings, Sandy Webber, Fred (Shirley) Jimenez and Sue Artinian. Grandchildren Corey Webber, Sarah (Louis) Gutierrez, Emily (Mike) Savage, Kyle Artinian, Eric Jimenez and Brandon Jennings, great-grandchildren Luna Ann Gutierrez and Johnny Jo Savage brother Raymond Jimenez, sisters-in-law Becky Jimenez, Bertha Gonzalez, Nora Cuellar and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents Ramon and Guadalupe Jimenez, brothers Mike and George Jimenez, sister Celia (David) Atherton and sister-in-law Geraldine Jimenez.
