Petitti,Geno 85 of burton, formerly of Flint, passed away Saturday February 20th,2016 at his home. Memorial service will be held Saturday March 12th, 12:00 noon, at Countryside Gospel Chapel 144 N. State Rd. Owosso, Mi. 48867 (989)

Geno was born Sept. 18 1930 in Paynesdale, Mi. in the Upper Peninsula, the son of John & Julia (Micheletti) Petitti. In 1947 the family moved to Flint, Mi. Geno took a job at a local riding stable , where he purchased his first horse(Drifter), where he discovered
his love of horses. In 1950 he married Mildred Shangle and together they had six children. Geno worked for many years as a sheet metal worker until he retired. In 1966, they moved to Gaines, mi. and started a hobby farm. They owned many horses over the
years and belonged to the Michigan and Shiawassee Co. Trail Riders Association, they spent several years riding the trails all across Michigan. Geno also belonged to the Shiawassee Co. Sheriffs Posse for many years. Geno & Mildred divorced in 1974.
In 1983 Geno met Janis Orvis and they were married in 1985,They shared many happy years together hunting, fishing, camping and also rock hunting. They were inseparable until Jan passed away in 2008, Geno was devastated at the loss of his soulmate!
He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Joseph and James, and a sister Jenny when she was just 5 years old and son Randy G. Petitti and a daughter Tina(Bill) Waterman, and his first wife Mildred.
He is survived by two sisters, Pena(Ray) Larson and Geraldine Baker, also by his son Chris(Vickie) Petitti, daughters Deb(Bud) Post, Cindy Petitti, and Kathy(Mark) Williams, 13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
and several nieces and nephews.
He was known by all his children and grandchildren as PAPA GENO!!!!! We will miss you immensely! |
