Roberts, John age 71 of Burton died March 11, 2014 at his residence. Funeral service will be held 5 pm, Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Dodds Dumanois Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 901 Garland St. Flint. Family will receive visitors from 11-5 pm Saturday. John met Barbara Nichols in 2000 and had a commitment ceremony March 8, 2014. He loved drywall work, playing and singing with his guitar, loved music especially county music. John always wore his cowboy boots, hat and belt, and enjoyed watching his western movies and his western books. He was a member of the Carpenters Union and the Painters Union Local #252. John was a very giving man, would do anything for anybody, always smiling, very happy and was a man of few words. He loved his grandchildren and they were his world. John is survived by his life partner Barbara "Red", children; Tim, Tom, John (Laurie), Tina(Brad),Ronald(Carla), Mike, James(Teresa), many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; siblings; Dorothy, Gene, Mary, Snake, Wilma; step-sons Lary and Gary(Kathy), former wife of 38 years Harriet Roberts. John was preceded in death by his son Kevin, 5 brothers, granddaughter Stacy Lawrence. Special thanks to Snake, Bill, Murray, Tasha, Michelle, James, Larry, Crystal, Tammy and Daniel.
